Abstract

The process of teaching and learning a language should take into account applying any recent accessible technologies and facilities. Islamic and Arabic based curriculums in this matter are not an exception. There are steps and efforts which have been taken in ensuring that these modern technologies can be fully utilized for the purpose of teaching and learning. One of these facilities is a facility used in preparing electronic portfolio (ePortfolio) via the Internet. Portfolio can be designed a form of compilation of student’s works from the first time he enrols the course until the final day of the academic semester. It can also consist of information such as, student’s assignments, views and reflections on the registered course. The contents of portfolio depend mainly on the purposes and the objectives of how it is going to be used. It is no doubt that the application of web-based portfolio provides an alternative dimension for teachers in evaluating their students’ works and performances. The present study seeks to shed some lights among practitioners of Islamic and Arabic based curriculums in particular, in utilizing latest Internet-based technologies and facilities for the betterment of the Ummah.
