Abstract

Simulation has been widely used as tool for training especially in areas that highly risk such as aerospace, military and medical. Surgery is one of sub area that received high attention from researcher due to the ability of simulation in providing a real surgery scene and organs of human with appropriate device to increase realism. Developing a surgical simulation is a complex process in technical aspects since it involved few components that interact to each other. Therefore there is need for a framework for technical solution to help a new and novice researcher in this area to get started. This paper discuss on important components of surgical simulator. A proposed solution framework together with choices of programming or application available for each components is explained clearly. Class structure for the components is shown briefly to give an idea to new researcher. It is a hope that this paper will serve as ground reading for new and novice researcher in haptic development and visual informatics as general.
