Abstract

This study takes a quick look at the idea of Islamic literature proposed by Sayyid Qutb and its development. Many venues witness the continuous discussions among Muslim literary scholars on the subject until they establish the definition for Islamic literature. There are three main elements of Islamic literature-‐aesthetic, tasawwur Islami and Islamic faith. The field of Islamic literature is widely open for Muslims to produce their creativity through literary works. However, they must keep the features of Islamic literature as the important characteristics which includes Islamic faith and moral values, clarity, holistic and integrated, reality, positive view and truthfulness. Islamic literature can become one of the instruments for da'wah and calling the people to the peace and happiness for the mankind in this very beautiful world.
