Cholera is an acute toxigenic diarrheal disease caused by gram-negative bacteria, Vibrio cholerae. This disease shows the symptoms of rapid onset of watery diarrhea which if untreated can leads to extreme water loss, hypovalemic shock, acidosis and finally death. Cholera is an endemic and epidemic disease and is particularly the only bacterial pandemic disease known so far.
