Abstract

This paper proposed a new intelligent algorithm for improving query processing in bioinformatics. This algorithm will combine with data warehouse approach. The purpose of this proposed methodology is to improve query processing in bioinformatics. This bioinformatics data are integration between different data sources. In order to integrate data from different data sources, a single database will assign. However, not all data from different data sources are collect and store into a single database, but only certain keywords will assign and store into this single database. This single database will act like a library. Meanwhile, an intelligent algorithm will search and retrieve only selected databases by referring “a single database” based on query entered by users. In this case, system is no need go to all data sources for searching and retrieving process, but only selected databases. Based on experiments has been done, the results shows this propose method can improve web query processing in bioinformatics
